Definition
Strategy describes how images and objectives expressed in the vision are achieved, and it provides a coherent series of actions meant to maintain its continuity. Once strategic decisions have been taken, one cannot (easily) revoke them. One commits for a longer period.
How do we wish to achieve this?
The landscape is recognizable
The region is no longer characterized by a patchwork of structure plans and town and country plans. Integrated (town and country) finetuning beyond municipal and provincial borders is the aim.
Housing conditions have improved
The region wishes to present itself as a livable and high-quality region where the principles of sustainability are used as a guideline.
The economic activity has been reinforced
The region can rely on a solid and (more) innovative economy.
The region has its own recognizable identity
The inhabitants feel at home and identify themselves with the region they live in.
The region is a recreational junction
The Scheldt landscape presents itself as an attractive destination for holiday-makers and tourists as well as for the inhabitants themselves.
